As rainwater filters through layers of rock in the Salus Nature Reserve, impurities are naturally removed, resulting in water with essentials minerals but low in sodium, with levels below 10 mg/l.

Supporting biodiversity

One of Danone’s key sustainability goals for 2030 is to implement water resource protection plans in areas where water is scarce. At Salus, we understand that protecting the ecosystems around water resources is central to preserving their quality. That’s why we support the Salus Natural Reserve – a site that protects 1,300 hectares of diverse ecosystems and over 1,000 species of plants and animals.

We work according to these 3 principles of the circular economy:


Reduce: We have a Packaging Policy that supports continuous improvement focusing on reducing the use of plastics.


Reuse: We offer various of reusable packaging options, including glass bottles, bottles that are used in circuits such as restaurants and hotels, and HOD drums, designed to be reused many times.


Recycle: We are part of Cempre (Corporate Commitment to Recycling) and the “Vale Plan”(Packaging Management Plan of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay), to ensure that the materials we use are recycled and used in the manufacture of new products. We are working on a plan to introduce 20% of rPET in Salus packaging by 2025.
