Creating a unique place to work

Our culture

Our culture is rooted in our mission (bringing health through food to as many people as possible), our Dual Project (economic performance and sustainability), as well as our HOPE values (Humanism, Openness, Proximity, and Enthusiasm). In support of these key elements are our five Danone Behaviors. Collectively, they underpin the success of our Renew Danone strategy.

HOPE and Danone Behaviors

Defined 25 years ago, the HOPE values are part of our DNA and unite us across countries, functions, and teams. They act as our moral compass, guiding us in everything that we do.

Crafted with the input of more than 60,000 Danoners, our five Behaviors go hand-in-hand with our values and are an enabler of our business results. They include:

Put Danone first

We act and work as one team, across countries and functions.

Lead with people

We grow as leaders by developing others.

Keep it simple

We deal with complexity by bringing focus and a pragmatic approach.

Be accountable

We are decisive and fact-based.

Walk the talk

We do what we say, acting as role models.

Putting people first

We’re a people-centric company. Danoners are our most important and precious asset. Our successful performance is achieved "avec et par" (with and by) our Danoners. Our people are empowered to make a difference by leveraging their unique strengths and expertise for the benefit of successful teamwork.

Our people-centric approach is reflected in our commitment to creating an environment where each and every person has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and succeed.  We create the conditions for lifelong learning and continuous development, so that all our Danoners are equipped for a fast-changing world.

Our commitments

Inclusion and Diversity

At Danone, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique talents.

From Antoine Riboud’s 1972 speech that unveiled Danone’s dual mission, to our commitment as an ‘Entreprise à Mission’ and our Danone Impact Journey, we are committed to driving both business results and social responsibility. Guided by our mission and HOPE values, we strive to be a force for good, driving meaningful and lasting change.

We aim to have a workforce that reflects the societies we live in, the partners we work with, and the customers and consumers we serve. We are committed to unlocking the power of our people: no matter who you are or where you come from, we want you to feel empowered to thrive and contribute to your fullest potential.

Our company policies reflect and reinforce this commitment.

  • The Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy underlines our dedication to an inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated and all contributions are valued, while ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

  • Complementing this, our Parental Policy enhances support for working parents and caregivers.

To ensure a safe and welcoming environment, all employees are required to complete Anti-Harassment & Discrimination training. We also encourage employees to use the Danone Ethics Line to report any instances of unfair treatment they experience or observe.

We’re proud to hold the Living Wage certification from Fair Wage Network, affirming our commitment to ensuring all Danoners and their families can cover essentials.

Well-being

At Danone, health is at the heart of our mission, and we are convinced that our mission starts with our people and workplaces. To further support Danoners to be at their healthiest, in 2023 Dan'Cares expanded with a 4th pillar: Be Well by Dan'Cares.

Be Well is a global well-being and benefits program that aims to support behavioural change through the implementation of targeted actions, to positively impact the health of Danone's employees.

We aim at fostering a positive environment in our workplaces, underpinned by a strong culture, that supports and nurtures Danoners' well-being in a holistic way. Thus, the program regroups and builds on existing local and global well-being initiatives in 3 focus areas: Nutrition, Mental and Physical well-being.

  • Nutrition: Facilitating the access to nutritional knowledge and healthy food at work, enabling employees to benefit from Danone's expertise to make healthy and sustainable food choices, aligned with their local nutritional needs, food culture and habits.

  • Mental Health: Prioritizing emotional balance and resiliency and increasing awareness on the importance of mental health and equipping team leaders as well as all employees.

  • Physical Well-Being: Enabling Danoners to take care of their health in a proactive manner and encouraging them to engage in physical activity.
