Les Prés Rient Bio’s organic milk certified Fair for Life

Making organic dairy products means choosing more environmentally friendly and animal-friendly production methods: no inputs, no synthetic pesticides, and cows that spend most of the year in the meadows. For Les Prés Rient Bio, it is also about wanting to do better for the women and men at the heart of the sector, going beyond the organic specifications, working together, working differently.

An organic offer that is sustainable and responsible

Les Prés Rient Bio is the B CorpTM certified company that markets the two organic and fairtrade dairy brands Les 2 Vaches and Faire bien. With organic grass, organic milk, and therefore good organic dairy products, and by supporting agriculture that respects animals, people and the planet, Les Prés Rient Bio helps change the agri-food model for more meaning and transparency.

Committing to a more environmentally friendly organic sector

At Les Prés Rient Bio, working differently is above all building lasting and responsible relationships with organic milk producers. As of March 2019, all the products manufactured on the site in Normandy will be certified by the fairtrade label “Fair For Life”, created by Ecocert. This independent certification, governed by strict standards, attests to Les Prés Rient Bio’s respect for commercially fair practices, and responsibility in social and environmental matters.

Being fair means getting involved with Norman dairy farmers with:

  • a guaranteed minimum purchase price accounting for production costs;
  • a fair compensation for the farmers;
  • a long-term contract of at least 5 years;
  • at least 2% of the amount of purchase of milk donated to development projects of the organic dairy sector.
