Food and beverage companies play a key role in addressing today’s global health challenges – and delivering nutritious, affordable, and accessible products to enable people to thrive.
Driven by our “Renew Danone” strategy, we are constantly improving our health-focused portfolio to meet the nutritional needs of consumers and patients worldwide, at every stage of their life.
And our efforts have been recognized! In 2024, Danone has been ranked #1 on the Global Access to Nutrition Index, implemented by the Access to Nutrition initiative (or ATNi) assessing the world largest food and beverage manufacturers' performance to improve access to nutritious foods.
Founded in 2013, ATNi is a global foundation (not-for-profit) that actively challenges the food industry, investors, and policymakers to shape healthier food systems. It does so by analyzing and translating data into actionable insights, as well as driving partnerships and innovations for market transformation.
The goal (similar to our mission!): ensure that all people have access to nutritious and sustainable food.
ATNi regularly runs the Global Access to Nutrition Index to assess the world’s largest food and beverage (F&B) manufacturers on their performance to improve access to nutritious foods, measuring their commitments, practices, and performance globally related to nutrition. The Index presents companies’ progress across a range of nutrition-related topics, areas for improvement, and offers a roadmap for change.
In 2024, with its 5th and largest Global Access to Nutrition Index yet – assessing the world’s 30 largest F&B manufacturers and over 52,000 products, Danone came in at number 1 in terms of portfolio improvement, use of nutrient profiling models for reporting purposes to ensure transparency, and nutrition workforce and governance.
Our portfolio was recognized as one of the healthiest in the sector, with the highest sales-weighted mean HSR of 3.8 out of 5. And not only was Danone ranked #1 overall, but it also received 1st or 2nd place ranking in all areas assessed, with a performance above the sector average.
